International Programmes and Projects Management

The International Programmes and Projects Management (IPPM) Unit at Strategic Development and Programmes Directorate has the primary responsibility for the preparation of project proposals on behalf of the Ministry of Justice, contacting and monitoring/ensuring the quality of implementation of projects part of the Structural and Investment Funds of the European Union as well as the programmes of the European Commission. Currently, a significant portion of the above constitute the projects co-financed by the European Social Fund within the Operational Programme “Good Governance” in implementation of the Updated Judicial Reform Strategy and other strategic documents.


IPPM is also in charge of the preparation of project proposals, contacting and day-to day management (or ensuring the quality of management) of programmes and projects under the bilateral legal cooperation, Norwegian Financial Mechanism, Bulgarian-Swiss Cooperation Programme and other financial instruments.


In this line of work, the Sector regularly collaborates with the Public Relations and Protocol and other units of the Ministry of Justice regarding the organization of seminars, conferences, workshops and study visits within the framework of international programmes and projects in the field of justice.


The unit also keeps records and database of projects financed by international donor programmes in the field of Justice / Judicial reform necessary for financial management, reporting, monitoring, verifications, audits and evaluation and provision of information upon request of various authorities.
